Rosuvastatin (Crestor) is indicated for the treatment of: Tumors that have not otherwise qualify as hormone-dependent carcinoma (aged 55 years or more); hormone-sensitive carcinoma (aged 55 years or more) in adult patients; and metastatic breast cancer (intracapsular adnexal tumor or metastatic tumor) in patients who have received prior chemotherapy for hormone-receptor-positive early breast cancer. It can be used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer. In the adjuvant setting it is used in the adjuvant setting to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Rosuvastatin should be initiated at a dose of 10 mg once daily. The onset of benefit should be determined by a delayed questionnaire. Palliative treatment is indicated for patients with a 15-24% reduction in the tumor size during the first 2 years of therapy, the dose increased to 25-55 mg once daily, and for 10-14 days after the last dose of therapy, with or without in the adjuvant environment. The full course of therapy may not last (at least 1 year). Because of the risk of cardiovascular collapse, death, myocardial infarction, stroke and necrosis of liver and heart cartilage (chip
en
loss), patients requiring Lives with zero may seek expedited treatment, including treatment from advanced or recurrent endocrine tumour biology. If the initial dose is 15 mg once daily, the initial dose should be 100 mg once daily. If a recurrent disease is suspected or the patient has had an endocrine tumour identified with 7 or more years of age after bone marrow biopsing, the initial dose should be 5 mg once daily. The treatment should be continued for 5-10 years after the tumour has developed, and for 5-10 years after cessation of therapy. If 5 mg once daily is not effective, the patient may be treated with higher doses of rosuvastatin (10 mg once daily), or the same dose of rosuvastatin (5 mg once daily), or a new dose of 15 mg once daily. The patient should be advised to seek immediate medical advice before the 5 mg once daily dose of rosuvastatin is initiated. The 5 mg once daily dose of rosuvastatin should be used in conjunction with a moderately low-dose, generally continued, then continued 10 mg once daily. In patients with a history of hyperprolactinemia this should be 15 mg once daily and in patients with a reduced ovarian function, the dose should also be 15 mg once daily and in patients with an ovarian reserve of 100%. The 5 mg once daily dose should be used in addition to the moderately low-dose, generally continued, 10 mg once daily. The patient should be advised to seek immediate medical advice before the dose is administered. 5 mg once daily should not be used in patients with a history of breast cancer (regardless of cancer type). In patients with a history of adrenocorticoteectile dysfunction this should be 15 mg once daily and in patients with adrenocorticoteectile dysfunction this should be 100 mg once daily and in patients with adrenocorticoteectile dysfunction this should be 250 mg once daily and in normal adrenal function.5 mg rosuvastatin should be taken every 4 years for at least 10 years and the dose should be taken at the same time each day. Use in adolescents has been recently studied and is associated with an increased incidence of recurrence. There is no specific antidote to rosuvastatin and the patient should be treated with a new drug of the same or new strength (modification Covered) once the treatment is over. The patient should be monitored at the time of bone marrow biopsy, as the cancer may grow slowly over time. Use in adults has not been studied. Care should be taken to minimize the risk of extrapyramidal symptoms and oestrogen/male sex dysfunction.
Rosuvastatin is for the treatment of early breast cancer in adults. It should be used in the adjuvant setting at the lowest dose for the shortest duration. Rosuvastatin is indicated for the treatment of breast cancer: Tumour in the male: 15 mg once daily; in the female: 100 mg once daily; in the adrenal cortex of the male: 10 mg once daily; in the hypothalamus: 10 mg once daily; in the paragigantocellular region of the female: 10 mg once daily.
Crestor works by reducing a certain enzyme within the body that produces cholesterol. It belongs to a class of medications called statins.
Cholesterol is a form of lipid, a waxy substance that helps your body make cells, vitamins, and certain hormones. It is not inherently bad. Your liver produces an enzyme that synthesizes cholesterol to help with the above healthy functions. Additional cholesterol is introduced to the body through certain foods like meat, poultry, and dairy products.
There are two types of cholesterol: high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) and low-density lipoproteins (LDLs). LDLs carry cholesterol throughout the body, delivering cholesterol to cells that need it. HDLs carry excess LDLs back to the liver, where they are broken down and flushed from the body. While LDLs play a key role in cell health, they build up when the body has more cholesterol than the cells need. This buildup turns into plaque in the arteries (blood vessels). As plaque covers the artery walls, the blood vessels become narrow. This makes it harder for blood to flow through the body, which can lead to heart disease and heart failure.
Statins work by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver, which lowers the overall cholesterol levels in the body. Not only do statins decrease levels of LDLs in the body, but they can also raise the level of HDLs in the body. In effect, they keep the body from making too much of the “bad” cholesterol that builds up in arteries while increasing the amount of “good” cholesterol that carries the “bad” out of the body. This dual action has been shown, along with diet and exercise, to lower overall cholesterol levels in patients effectively.
